My Story

In September 2023, we will be running the Great North Run to raise money
for Northumbria Blood Bikes. 
We all take it for granted that blood will be available wherever and whenever we need it. Precious people are here today because of the vital work of Northumbria Blood Bikes. Please help us support this fantastic charity.

Northumbria Blood Bikes (NBB) is a registered charity established in
September 2012.

The charity is run solely by unpaid local volunteers. They deliver essential
blood and other urgent medical supplies out of hours between hospitals
and healthcare sites in North East England. This service is provided free of
charge to the NHS so they can put the money saved back into front line
patient care.

The service is provided to all major hospitals across the North East
including Newcastle, North Tyneside, Northumberland, Gateshead, South
Tyneside, Durham and Darlington. The volunteers are all people like you and me, who give up their time to
help make a difference to the lives of others. The money I am raising will
help fuel and maintain the vehicles so the volunteers can help save lives.
In 2022 NBB delivered over 12,000 packages free of charge to the NHS and
the Great North Air Ambulance. That puts our total number of deliveries
to over 95 thousand!
