My Story

On the 21st December, I was diagnosed with endometriosis - a condition that is underfunded, under-researched and consistently misdiagnosed.

Endometriosis is an illness where cells similar to the ones in the lining of the womb (uterus) are found elsewhere in the body. It affects 1 in 10 women in the UK and is as common as diabetes and asthma in women. Despite being so common, on average it takes 8 years from onset of symptoms to get a diagnosis.

Endometriosis UK is a charity that aims to change these long waits and support women, alongside many other amazing things.

In September, I will be running the Great North Run which is a half marathon across Newcastle. This is my first half marathon race! I'm running with the hope that one day, myself and thousands of other women will have a cure for this disease!

Any donations would be helpful so that our future daughters and granddaughters can hopefully have a cure!
