My Story

Great North Run 2023

For the past 19 years, I've been a dedicated supporter of Huddersfield Town, ever since my Grandad took me to the stadium for the very first time. From that moment, I was captivated not only by the thrill of the game but also by the incredible sense of community that permeates throughout the stands and beyond. Growing up in Kirklees, I've personally witnessed the hardships faced by some individuals in our town.

Through the highs and lows of our journey, the pinnacle was undoubtedly our recent rise to the Premier League. It was a dream come true, one that I never thought I'd witness in my lifetime—let alone my 85-year-old grandad! The success of our club resonated deeply within the entire town, bringing joy and pride to all.

Now, I feel it's time for me to give back and support the Huddersfield Town Foundation by participating in the Great North Run. The club and the community have played an integral role in shaping me as a person and have given me so much throughout the years. I previously took part in the event back in 2013 and also participated in the Pedal4Pounds event in 2012. Engaging in fundraising activities is not only a personal challenge that I enjoy, but it's also an opportunity to raise vital funds for worthy causes like the Huddersfield Town Foundation.

As I lace up my running shoes, I'm driven by the belief that "it's not about the size of the dog in the fight, it's about the size of fight in the dog!" By taking on this half marathon and fundraising on behalf of the Foundation, I aim to embody the unwavering spirit of Huddersfield Town and contribute to the ongoing positive impact they have on the lives of young people in our community.

I invite you to support me on this journey as I strive to make a difference, inspired by the club and the community that have shaped me. Together, we can champion the power of sports, education, health, and inclusion—making a lasting impact on the lives of those who need it most.
