My Story

After 5 years of symptoms and battle for a diagnosis, I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and chronic pain disorder in November 2021. Before this decline in my health, I had been an avid runner and exercise enthusiast. It may sound dramatic to some but I thought my life was over. I spent 6 months on my setee, grieving the loss of the person I used to be.
In time I had the guts to approach a local gym for help. Since then I haven't looked back. Gaining the strength and confidence to get back into physical activity and eventually at the end of 2022, sign up to a couch to 5k program. Convinced I'd never run again after a few failed attempts, I graduated the course. Now I am taking on the Great North Run 2023, proud to represent Fibromyalgia Action UK. I was to raise both  money and awareness for this often misunderstood condition. To show that life is not over after diagnosis and though I know the training will be hard and some days it will be difficult and painful, I am determined to get to the finish line. I promise I will not let you down. 💜💜
