Katie fundraising for Kate ❤️
My Story
Sometimes you're going along happily when life throws you an unexpected curve ball.
We're running the great north run for our beautiful, best friend Kate (far left on the photo) who has recently been diagnosed with an acoustic neuroma. This is a type of brain tumour which starts on the nerve that leads from the brain to the inner ear. The initial symptom was Kate losing her hearing in one ear, this then led to balance difficulties and severe headaches.
We would like to raise awareness of this type of tumour that, if left untreated, can cause facial paralysis, stroke and hydrocephalus (fluid on the brain). The charity BANA (British, acoustic, neuroma association) is supporting Kate through this difficult time. We are raising money for BANA as well as the Newcastle Hospitals as Kate's operation took place at the RVI.
