My Story
I'm lining up alongside (well slightly behind) Mo Farah in the Great North Run half marathon on Sunday 10 September to raise funds for the fantastic Encephalitis Society. My mum, Jane, got viral encephalitis suddenly in May of this year. She's been incredibly brave and strong to get through the initial virus, and fight a lot of health challenges along the way. She's still in hospital but she's getting there, slowly but surely. The Encephalitis Society has been an amazing source of information on this rare illness - advising and reassuring my mum, brother, sister and myself. I'm keen they can carry on the great research they are doing into encephalitis and keep raising awareness.
