My Story

I am running for St Oswald's Hospice, a charitable hospice rooted in the North East of England. Hospices are brilliant. If you can imagine facing the most difficult, scary and stressful circumstances that life can throw at you, and someone reaches out, puts an arm around you and provides the help and support you and your family need at this hardest of times - that's what hospices do. St Oswald's has to fundraise to pay for the things which make it a truly special place. Your donations support  essential services such as our Adult Inpatient Unit and Children and Young Adults Service, and also fund the activities which make the hospice the special place it is, such as complementary therapy, bereavement support, the Focus on Living Centre, our amazing kitchen, and activities for the children and young adults who visit for short breaks.

In a nutshell, we provide outstanding, specialist and expert care to babies, children, young people and adults with life-limiting conditions. We make the most of life and are a welcoming place; we strive to provide quality time for everyone.

Care at St Oswald's is provided free of charge and your donations will help keep their doors open for all who need them during what might be the most difficult time in their lives.

I know the cost of living continues to bite, so if you can give £5 to support this brilliant cause I'd be hugely grateful.  If not then I'd be just as thankful for your positive thoughts at around 11am on Sunday 10th September as I set off on my attempt to complete the Great North Run...

Thank you for your support.
