My Story

On the 10th September 2023, I am taking part in the Great North Run on behalf of SRUK.

After my last GNR I said never again but here we are. My motivation this time was a reminder that we should never take our health for granted. In 2021 when our lives were returning to normal, following the pandemic, my mum started experiencing a variety of symptoms and horrible pain leaving her unable to do anything. After months of pain and so many appointments my mum was finally diagnosed with Scleroderma. She is now getting support but it's completely changed her life, impacting her mobility, leaving her disabled. What she is going through has reminded me that although I often hate it I should be grateful that I can get out there and run so I should challenge myself!

SRUK are the only charity to improve awareness and understanding of Raynaud's and Scleroderma, to support those affected, fund ground breaking research and ultimately, to find a cure. Please support my efforts as I take on the 13.1 mile route for this worthy cause.

Thank you.
