My Story

My sister Laura and I are fundraising for both the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation (Laura's Fundraising Page) and Sarcoma UK, two charities that mean a lot to us and our family. To honor our dad,  both of our late beloved grandmas and late grandad.

The Sir Bobby Robson Foundation is a charity based in the North East which raises money to help fund the early detection and treatment of cancer. We sadly lost our Grandma Jean to cancer in 2012, she was a huge Newcastle fan and Sir Bobby himself. 

Last Christmas we suffered the loss of our Grandma Beryl, who had listed both of these charities in her will; The Sir Bobby Robson Foundation honors her late husband, our Grandad George, and Sarcoma UK for her son, our dad Ian. George was a massive Newcastle supporter, loved and missed by all of us, especially our Dad, Ian. Our Dad suffered from the rare Sarcoma Cancer in 2015, and after a long and difficult fight, he thankfully won his battle. 

Sarcoma UK is a charity that researches to develop treatments for those suffering from this uncommon cancer, and we hope to raise awareness for this charity by taking part in the Great North Run.
