My Story

Samaritans is an amazing service that provides help to people needing someone to talk to when the challenges of life might seem overwhelming and they have nowhere to turn .   

It is a cause that is close to me and I am going to do the the Great North Run (Walk , Crawl  ..)  once again this year  to raise funds for our local service. 

I would be really grateful for donations to help us keep the branch going year on year so that this service is maintained to the high standards necessary for all the volunteers who give up their time to help someone who needs a shoulder to lean on.

I just wanted to let you know what your fundraising means :

£10 could answer two calls for help, so we can enable more people to find the strength to keep going.

£42 could help keep Samaritans phone lines open for 5 minutes, giving more people someone to turn to.

£96 could train and support an existing volunteer for a year.

£200 could cover the cost of a new volunteer to build the skills they need to answer a call for help.
