My Story
I have no doubt that nearly every family has, at some point, been effected by alcohol use disorder. Mine is no different.
This year, I will be running the Great North Run for Alcohol Change UK in memory of my late Uncle. Honest to a fault, thoughtful, and suave, his loss is felt keenly. There wasn't much I could do when he was ill, but I can do something now.
Alcohol Change UK are the foremost national charity, dedicated to addressing the personal and societal harm alcohol can so easily cause.
Contrary to popular misconception, their goal is not to eradicate alcohol but to minimise its harmful impact. The problems are complex and the solutions are not simple. To that end, I'll be lacing up my trainers to support this charity and anyone living with, or affected by, alcoholism.
Any pennies you can spare would be greatly appreciated.
