My Story

Hello - Celia and Freddie here. We are running the Great North Run 2023 for Action Foundation, a FANTASTIC local charity. 

Action Foundation supports refugees, asylum seekers and other migrants living in Tyne and Wear. Through supported housing projects, sociable drop-in advice sessions, a digital Inclusion project and an English language school, Action Foundation actively tackles homelessness, poverty and isolation in the region. 

Celia had the absolute privilege of working for Action Foundation for a year and meeting the incredible people the charity supports. Action Foundation delivers vital support and we have experienced how much the work is valued by refugee and asylum seeking communities in the North East. Refugees and asylum seekers face a hostile world and we are both proud of the North East in welcoming those in need. 

It is a joy for us both to run the Great North Run for this wonderful local charity.
