My Story

Not many people will know as I do like to keep as many things as private as possible but unfortunately both parents were diagnosed with Cancer last year. Making it the worst year of my life to date. In 2015 my Mum was diagnosed with Breast Cancer and underwent Chemotherapy and various other treatments to try and cure it, she did really well and came out the other end a lot stronger. It can take numerous appointments and years after they give you the all clear (They say 7 years before you get the all clear...) but unfortunately in this case on the 7th year of my Mum getting the all clear she was informed last year, 2022, the Cancer had returned and she needed to undergo further treatment. Thankfully it is manageable and she is super strong so has come so far. The same year, I was then told my Dad had been diagnosed with Throat Cancer and had six weeks of aggressive Chemo and Radiotherapy treatment. As you can imagine the news of both parents hit me like a ton of bricks but you have to remain strong for them. He has a few strenuous months ahead of him but I know he is strong too and will get through this. Now because my Dad loves the outdoors so much, myself and my three Sisters have decided to do this run together. The above reasons are why I decided to go with this charity and I will forever be grateful for what they do along with the NHS and Private Healthcare system. What doesn't kill you, can only make you stronger and both my parents know we will always be there for them, every step of the way or in this case run ;) I absolutely hate running so this will be a big goal of mine and I would appreciate any donation to help with this cause whether it's big or small, I appreciate it so thank you and thank you for your time in reading my story.
