My Story

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

I'm running in memory of my dad. He was a man full of youthful exuberance. Always on the go and forever with a tale to tell.

Sadly, in 2021 he suffered a stroke. The impact was catastrophic and left him paralysed on one side without the ability to speak or swallow. Two weeks later, he died.

It was during those two weeks that I bore witness to his remarkable resilience and persistence. He never gave up and found ways to communicate with us all. When we celebrated his 80th birthday via video call, his leg and arm tapped and waved with joy at reaching such a landmark age. In his final days, he never let go of our hands, holding them until the end. He left behind in me a strong desire to live life fully. One of the ways in which I've always done this is setting myself a challenge and raising money along the way.

It wasn't hard to choose a charity this time. Someone suffers a stroke in the UK every 5 minutes. Thankfully, not all stroke cases result in tragedy like my dad's. The Stroke Association support vital research into strokes as well as provide assistance of all kinds to survivors of strokes. Their work is imperative to those in need.

I've pledged to raise £500 for this race, but this year, I'm completing 23 challenges including a 10k every month, Brighton Marathon and heaps of mountain and hiking challenges.

Thank you for getting this far. If you're feeling generous, I'd love your sponsorship support.
