About us

We're a charity dedicated to saving wildlife and wild places and helping people get closer to nature. We work across Northumberland, Newcastle and North Tyneside.

Here are a few of the things we have achieved in recent years thanks to our amazing supporters:

  • Released over 2,000 water voles, a species whose numbers have been declining dramatically.
  • Engaged hundreds of children and young people in wildlife projects and outdoor activities.
  • Restored peatland, a type of wetland critical for preventing climate change, in Redesdale.
  • Organised our Growing with Nature programme which provides a safe space for adults struggling with their mental health to get involved with nature and the outdoors.

We also manage more than 60 nature reserves around the region where people can get closer to nature.

Without donations from people who care about protecting wildlife and preserving wild spaces, we wouldn't be able to continue our important work. Find our more about what we do on our website here.
